CHILD DISCIPLINARY

PROCEDURES &

POLICY:

A - Z Child Development Center, recognizes that discipline should be a teaching process rather than a punishing process. A - Z does not allow the use of any physical punishment, and children will not be subject to discipline which is severe, humiliating, or frightening.

A - Z Child Development Center, discipline practices is intended to help the child gain self-control through learning appropriate behavior. The Child Care-Providers will use positive ways of discipline through "time-out," talking it out, positive behavior reinforcement, explanation, and encouragment. Child Care-Providers will use "time-out," when a child continues to endangered or inflict harm to him/herself or another child. "Time-out" is a method where the child is removed from play to allow a few moments to think about his or her actions before returning to the group activity. If you have any concern about the disciplinary procedures we urge you to discuss it with the Director. The Director may require the Parents to put their opinion regarding the Center's Disciplinary Policy in writing.
